E-health records and people with disabilities: Strengthening consumer health informatics
Friday 20 November 2015, 09:00 - 12:30
This half-day seminar will highlight factors affecting implementation of the Australian e-health record “Personally Controlled Electronic Health Record” (soon to be renamed My Health Record (MyHR)) for people who might benefit the most - people with disabilities affecting their ability to communicate their health history, symptoms, and health information in a timely way.

The information presented in this seminar will help disability organisations, people with a disability, and their family carers or paid carers to understand more about the e-health record and issues to consider when beginning to use the system to improve health information exchange.

You are invited to come along and share your own views and experiences, as the seminar will have an interactive focus and also a discussion with the panel of experts to guide further work on improving implementation for people with a communication difficulty.
Location Hunter Medical Research Institute, Grounds of John Hunter Hospital, Lookout Rd, Lambton Heights, Newcastle
