MedicalDirector online booking module set for February launch
Clinical and practice management software vendor MedicalDirector has released the pricing structure for the new integrated online appointments booking module it will launch for PracSoft users next month.
MedicalDirector will charge 20c per booking for the new service, billed monthly, with a discount off the annual PracSoft subscription for practices that spend more than $25 per doctor per month.
The service will be free for patients to use and MedicalDirector will provide each practice with a personalised webpage for online appointments that can be embedded into existing websites or hosted by the company.
The system will include a secure verification process for new patients. MedicalDirector has built an application programming interface (API) that will allow practices to continue using third-party appointment booking services if the practice is looking for new patients.
Appointments are accessible from within the current PracSoft appointment book and practices can choose which doctors' appointments to display or to display the doctor's name but not their appointments if that doctor is not seeing new patients.
MedicalDirector's summer release also includes improvements to the MedicalDirector Clinical software, including the ability to schedule downloads and installation of updates to the MDref drug database on the practice server.
It has also added the ability for multiple users to access the same patient's record simultaneously, with the first user granted read/write access and subsequent users provided with read-only access.
Other features include a one-click medical certificate function, improved patient demographic fields and improvements to allergy, adverse drug reaction and current Rx and past history modules.
MedicalDirector CEO Phil Offer said the new release features have been prioritised based on an extensive process to gather customer feedback.
The company is holding a series of one-hour webinars later this month to outline what's new in both the Clinical and PracSoft modules.
