Patients First to close down hMael secure email service

Health IT not-for-profit Patients First is discontinuing its hMael secure email for health service after five years, citing a decrease in new accounts as a result of the coronavirus pandemic that is not likely to improve.

Patients First, which is owned by General Practice New Zealand (GPNZ), receives funding from the Ministry of Health to run the GP2GP patient record transfer service but not for hMael.
