DSS to hold sector briefings on My Aged Care

The Department of Social Services (DSS) will hold a series of sector briefings around the country next month on changes to a number of programs due to begin on July 1, including the My Aged Care website.

The briefings will cover the changes coming to home care packages under the consumer-directed care (CDC) policy, as well as to the Commonwealth home support program and My Aged Care.

The aged care sector has raised a number of concerns recently about the preparedness of some aged care providers in terms of their IT capability, as well as the department's plans for the central client record aspect of the Aged Care Gateway.

DSS said last year that the record would be trialled at a site in Victoria in March before a nationwide roll-out from July 1.

The sector briefings will also include representatives from the Department of Human Services, with the session on changes to My Aged Care including a demonstration of how the site works.

For more information on times and locations, see the DSS website.
