Allied health providers eHealth expo coming to Melbourne
The South Eastern Health Providers Association and the South Eastern Melbourne Medicare Local are hosting an Allied Health Providers eHealth Expo on Saturday, May 11.
The event, to be held at the Ramada Encore in Dandenong from 10am, has been convened to provide allied health providers with information about the Personally Controlled Electronic Health Record (PCEHR), secure messaging, and Medicare Health Professionals Online Services (HPOS) portal.
Attendees will be provided with demonstrations on how to view patient Shared Health Summaries, retrieve Medicare Benefits Schedule and pharmaceutical data, and contribute Event Summaries to the PCEHR. Discussions covering the various government issued authentication certificates and the PCEHR registration process will also feature at the event.
The event will feature presentations from a range of secure messaging providers, with the following organisations representing the wider Health IT vendor community to be in attendance.
Allied health providers will also be provided with information in order to register their details in the Victorian Human Services Directory (HSD) which will in turn ensure their details are accessible through the National Health Services Directory.
The South Eastern Melbourne Medicare Local has around 400 primary healthcare providers (encompassing pharmacists, dental and all other allied health providers) and 427 primary care clinics. The Medicare Local is one of 17 eHealth Support Hubs and provides services to the Bayside Medicare Local, Gippsland Medicare Local and Frankston-Mornington Peninsula Medicare Local.
This event is targeted at private allied health providers located in the above catchments. Attendees are required to register here. The organisers have advised that those residing in areas outside of these catchments are also welcome to attend, provided they register and advise of their location.
