Medicare Local signs with Intrahealth to offer hosted IT suite
Townsville-Mackay Medicare Local (TMML) has formed a partnership with software vendor Intrahealth to offer a suite of fully hosted and customised software solutions to other Medicare Locals and community and allied health organisations.
Intrahealth's Profile practice management package has been used by TMML in its previous incarnation as a division of general practice since 2008, and it has since customised the functionality to develop a number of software modules specifically for its own requirements, including managing programs such as ATAPS, headspace and Partners In Recovery.
Now, TMML is offering these software modules as an Enterprise Health Management Suite (EHMS) to other organisations as a hosted solution, particularly targeting other Medicare Locals who don't have the necessary IT expertise and to community and allied health organisations to help better manage their businesses.
TMML's clinical business systems manager Colleen Watkins said the EHMS can provide a “whole of business solution” which tracks patient records and forms, financials, administration requirements and other functions.
“We have been working with IntraHealth’s Profile system since 2008 and saw enormous potential for a wide range of health businesses,” Mrs Watkins said in statement.
“We have harnessed our clinical staff’s expertise in their chosen disciplines to assist us in the configuration and development of software modules.”
Intrahealth's general manager Craig Longstaff said the Medicare Local had “immense knowledge” that few if any other similar organisations could boast, including systems developers, trainers and business analysts.
“TMML has some incredibly knowledgeable resources and has configured and developed aspects of the Profile tool to meet their clients’ requirements,” Mr Longstaff said.
“It seems a logical step to enhance this relationship from a purely customer relationship to a partnership agreement, whereby TMML can offer Intrahealth products and related services to other organisations in Queensland.”
TMML's general manager of IT services Steve Joslin said TMML was the only Medicare Local able to provide such a service in Queensland.
“TMML is the only Medicare Local positioning itself to provide secure, hosted practice management solutions to organisations within its sector that have the limited time, knowledge, technology resources and development capabilities to tailor a solution which elegantly fits the way it conducts business,” Mr Joslin said.
“The scalable nature of our solution fits all company footprints from single-site five-user installations to multi-site, multi-discipline, geographically spread organisations, with concurrent user requirements in excess of 1000 users.”
Mr Longstaff said the agreement would allow Intrahealth to provide services to healthcare and community organisations in Queensland, including business analysis, training delivery and support services, by people who have worked in the area and intimately understand it.
