eClaims on the menu for medical admin course
Distance education provider the Open Training and Education Network (OTEN) has incorporated courses on the eClaims system into its curriculum for a certificate in medical administration.
The Certificate III in Business (Medical) Administration and Statement of Attainment in Medical Reception are run by OTEN in association with TAFE NSW.
Both of these courses will now include two units that include eClaims topics – Maintain Patient Records and Prepare and Process Medical Accounts.
eClaims was first developed by Advanced Computer Software Supplies (ACSS) in 1992 to streamline workflow from the appointment book through to invoicing. It includes online Medicare billing and is aimed at general practices, specialists, radiologists and pathologists.
It interfaces with Medical Director and Best Practice.
