Call for papers for HIC2013

The Health Informatics Society of Australia (HISA) has issued a call for submissions for the Health Informatics Conference 2013 (HIC), being held in Adelaide from July 15 to 18.

The submission deadline is February 18, with notification of paper status on April 5. The theme of the 2013 conference is 'Digital Health Service Delivery – The Future Is Now'.

The chair of HIC2013 is Cisco Systems' health industry practice lead and former HISA CEO Brendan Lovelock. Dr Lovelock also chairs the Digital Hospital Design allied conference.

Chair of the science program is health informatics expert and chair of Standard Australia's Health Informatics IT-14 committee, Heather Grain, and chair of the industry/clinical program is eHealth expert and general manager Australia for Care Innovations, George Margelis.

Suggested themes include:

  • Patient journeys and patient-centred care
  • New technologies, social media, and mobile devices
  • Digital health service delivery
  • Self-management
  • HIT innovation
  • Remote and/or resource poor
  • National eHealth policies

Papers can be submitted at the HIC2013 and selected submissions will be published as a monograph in the IOS Press series Studies in Health Technology and Informatics.
