AMA negotiates IT discounts for its members

The Australian Medical Association (AMA) has released the details of a new crop of IT-related discounts available to its members.

Companies enlisted in the ‘PowerBuy’ program include Apple, Dell, APC, Lenovo, Netgear, CISCO and Fuji Xerox, each of whom are offering discounts to AMA members that purchase selected products. While the terms and conditions attached to the reduced pricing varies between IT vendors, in many cases customers are able to purchase products from their existing suppliers and seek a cash back rebate from the PowerBuy system. Discount coupons for use on selected online stores are also administered by PowerBuy.

Discounts available through PowerBuy typically range from 10% to 20%, however some vendors have elected to offer flat rate discounts of between $100 and $150. Further details are available from the AMA website:
