WA's Health Support Services appoints new CIO

WA Health's ICT services agency Health Support Services (HSS) has appointed Christian Rasmussen as its new CIO.

A former Lotterywest and Curtin University CIO, Mr Rasmussen takes over from Holger Kaufmann, who left in June 2020.

HSS CEO Robert Toms said Mr Rasmussen will lead the transformation and modernisation of ICT at HSS and across the WA health system.

“He will oversee the delivery of modern, secure, integrated and user-friendly ICT platforms for public health care services in Western Australia,” Mr Toms said in a statement.

“This includes helping to develop and define future ICT priorities in line with the WA Health Digital Strategy.”

The strategy, released in October 2019, includes a vision for a statewide electronic medical record for WA's public hospitals.

Mr Rasmussen will begin work on February 15.
