Zedmed releases version 17
Zedmed has released version 17 of its clinical and practice management solution for general and specialist practice. The software update — a six-monthly general release — will be distributed on disk to all Zedmed customers throughout November.
Leveraging the work undertaken by Zedmed in its capacity as a member of the Vendor Panel, the release includes functionality that allows practices to interact with the Healthcare Identifier Service.
While many of the features relating to the Healthcare identifier Service were made available by the company in its version 16 release a few months ago, version 17 is the first release to be actively distributed to Zedmed customers outside of the Personally Controlled Electronic Health Record Wave 1 lead implementation sites, which are situated in Brisbane, Melbourne, and the Hunter Valley region of NSW.
To assist practices to navigate the processes involved with registering to interact with the Healthcare Identifier Service, and to use HPI-I (provider identifiers) in electronic communication, Zedmed has released a 5-step document for its customers. The company has also released comprehensive documentation for practices wishing to start using Zedmed to download patient healthcare identifiers (IHI) into their practice database.
The release also includes a number of minor updates such as the addition of new vaccines, improved address book searching, and additional Inbox sorting options. The software now also allows users to generate electronic referrals and specialist letters in HL7 format.
