Clintel integrates Medical-Objects secure messaging

Practice management software provider Clintel Systems has integrated the Medical-Objects secure messaging system into its Specialist patient administration system.

Adelaide-based Clintel has already integrated the Argus clinical information exchange into The Specialist, which is used in several hundred specialist practices around the country.

Clintel's business service manager Julie Mullighan said Medical-Objects was more commonly used in Queensland than Argus, which has a large user base in Victoria.

Clintel also offers integration with Medicare's Electronic Claim Lodgement and Information Processing Service Environment (ECLIPSE), as well as aged care claiming through the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI) and MIMS' medicine information system.

Ms Mullighan also said several customers were now using the company's hospital casemix protocol (HCP) submission module within The Specialist, following the closure of the government-run portal for submitting this data. HCP is a data set that includes clinical, demographic and financial information for privately insured admitted patient services.

There are no plans as yet to integrate other secure messaging systems such as Global Health's ReferralNet or NZ's HealthLink.
