Ferrier joins Orion Health board

Former Fonterra CEO Andrew Ferrier has joined the board of directors of NZ-based health IT company Orion Health.

Canadian-born Ferrier, who ran NZ's largest dairy cooperative for eight years before stepping down in September, has also invested in the company through his family investment company, Canz Capital.

"[Orion CEO Ian McCrae] truly feels that Orion Health has the potential to surpass a number of New Zealand's agricultural-based industries in export returns in the years to come," Mr Ferrier said.

"I like that vision and drive, and hope to contribute, with my experience in international markets and in building global, performance-driven teams.”

Orion is New Zealand's largest privately owned software exporter and recorded a 30 per cent increase in operating revenue for the first six months of the 2012 financial year.
