APNA to showcase model healthcare community

The Australian Practice Nurses Association (APNA) will hold its annual conference in Melbourne from May 3 to 5, and will feature the National E-Health Transition Authority's (NEHTA) Model Healthcare Community exhibition.

The Model Healthcare Community is an interactive exhibition of Australia’s electronic health capability, and the future of healthcare.

Jill White, dean of the Sydney Nursing School at the University of Sydney, will open the conference, speaking about the reconnection of nursing and primary healthcare as well as recent and future initiatives that she says will return nursing into the spotlight of community healthcare.

Keynote speakers include Noel Hayman clinical director of the Inala Indigenous Health Service in Brisbane and Manny Noakes, author of the CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet.

The ABC's Tony Jones will host a panel discussion featuring leaders in the primary healthcare sector.

Registrations are now open.
