HL7 Australia elects new board and chair

HL7 Australia elected a new board and chair at its annual general meeting yesterday, with former board member and enterprise architect Jason Steen, who just recently finished a stint with eHealth NSW and is now sole director of consulting firm KISS Software, taking over as chairman from Equipoise International's Nat Wong.

The secretary is former Tasmanian Department of Health and Human Services' deputy CIO, eHealth strategic adviser and Semantic Consulting managing director Tim Blake.

The treasurer is former HL7 Australia executive director and former chair of the National Allied Health Classification Committee Amy Mayer, who is currently working in safety and quality with WA Health.

Ordinary board members include terminology expert and HL7 Australia distinguished member Heather Grain; health informatician and Oridashi founder Brett Esler, who is also a distinguished member; and former NEHTA lead architect and IHTSDO technical committee member Reuben Daniels. Another board member is still to be appointed.
