HISA issues call for papers for HIC 2017

The Health Informatics Society of Australia (HISA) has issued a call for submissions for the Health Informatics Conference (HIC 2017), being held this year in Brisbane from August 6 to 9.

HISA says the HIC 2017 conference will continue with recent themes of highlighting innovation and the digital transformation of the healthcare sector, including the central role that information and health informatics brings in connecting the system.

Keynote speakers so far include regular attendee, futurist Matthew Holt, inventor of the Swasthya Slate Kanav Kahol and US-based haematologist Ken Carson.

As in previous years, HIC includes a mixture of industry and clinical case studies and an academic/scientific program. Co-chairs of the scientific program are Australasian College of Health Informatics (ACHI) council members Angela Ryan and Sue Whetton, while the industry program is chaired by Gil Carter of Cogility and the clinical program by Clair Sullivan of Princess Alexandra Hospital.

The closing date for submissions is March 20, with successful applicants notified on May 9. Apply online at http://www.hisa.org.au/hic/papers/.
