ACT looking for quick transcription turnaround for Winscribe roll-out

ACT Health is looking for a supplier of medical transcription on a fee for service basis to handle excess demand as it rolls out Winscribe Text version 8.1.

Winscribe won a $300,000 tender last year to implement its medical reporting and document management solution for ACT Health, which currently uses a number of outsourced transcription services to back up its central transcription service.

With the roll-out of Winscribe Text, the in-house team will now manage all transcription but when demand outstrips capacity, the work will be allocated to the outsourced provider on a fee for service basis. ACT Health said it expects about 2000 to 3000 letters per month will be outsourced.

The provider must have the ability to receive exported voice files from Winscribe Text, to use approved templates based on the specialty from which the dictation has been produced, to import completed documents into ACT Health’s Winscribe Text ready for author approval and electronic distribution, and to undertake the typing in Winscribe Text.

It will be required to host and store any data in Australia. The tender closes on March 30.
