Sysmex's Webster turns to Australia full time

The CEO of Sysmex New Zealand and Sysmex Australia, James Webster, is relinquishing the management of NZ operations to take up the Australian role full-time, with System NZ general manager Arjit Bhana moving into the NZ top job.

Mr Webster was CEO of Sysmex NZ for 15 years and of Sysmex Australia since the subsidiary was established in 2014. Mr Bhana has been with the company since 2001, mainly in financial roles.

National sales manager Colin McKenzie has also been promoted to sales director, joining the NZ company's management board.

In addition to laboratory instrumentation and automation, Sysmex markets a range of health IT solutions, including the Eclair clinical data repository as well as the Delphic laboratory information system (LIS) and Delphic AP for anatomical pathology workflows. Eclair is widely used in New Zealand as the basis of the TestSafe system and for electronic orders and results.

Mr Webster said despite the full-time move to Australia, he would still be part of the larger Sysmex group. “I believe my earlier role as CEO for Sysmex New Zealand will help achieve a higher level of collaboration between the two companies,” he said in a statement.

“I am looking forward to continuing to work closely with the NZ team on a number of opportunities, leveraging our shared knowledge and broad expertise.”
