Ascom appoints Feargal O'Farrell as new MD

Ascom Integrated Wireless has appointed former sales and marketing director Feargal O’Farrell as its new managing director, taking over from Robert Wood.

Mr O’Farrell has a long history in healthcare ICT and telecommunications, having previously worked for Ericsson and for Integrated Wireless for 10 years before it was acquired by Ascom in December 2013.

The company markets a range of mobile workflow platforms for hospitals and aged care facilities, including wireless handsets, staff devices and the Unite messaging suite for integrated workflow intelligence.

It is also known for the Myco handheld device, which has been specially designed as a mobile workflow solution and all-in-one communications device for nurses. Version two of the solution was launched last month, featuring new Google app functionality, near-field communication and infra-red location capabilities.

Mr O’Farrell said Ascom's integrated workflow intelligence platform approach represented an opportunity for Australian hospitals and elderly care facilities to improve their care models and deliver better outcomes.
