Children's Health Queensland on the hunt for chief digital officer
Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service (HHS) has awarded a $40,000 contract to IT recruitment specialist Harvey Nash to help it source, assess and hire a chief digital officer.
The statewide health service includes the newly renamed Queensland Children's Hospital in Brisbane and community and mental health services, as well as working with the other HHSs on paediatric care.
The former Lady Cilento Children's Hospital opened in 2014 with the foundational Cerner Millennium integrated electronic medical record (ieMR) and adopted an advanced version in April this year.
It is also investigating a patient portal, and is leading the development and delivery of the National Digital Pregnancy Health Record (DPHR), part of the National Children’s Digital Health Collaborative.
The HHS's former CIO and CDO, Alistair Sharman, left in August. The acting CDO is Lisa Knowles.
A successful candidate is expected to be announced in mid-December.
