Matthew Miles named new RACGP CEO

The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners has appointed Matthew Miles as its new CEO.

Dr Miles takes over from Zena Burgess, who resigned in October 2019. Chief operating officer Nick Williamson has been acting as CEO in the interim.

Dr Miles is a veterinarian by training and most recently spent seven years as CEO of MS Research Australia. He was previously director of external relations at the University of NSW and was an executive officer at the Australian Veterinary Association.

He will begin the role on August 3 and will be based in Sydney rather than head office in Melbourne.
