Anders Ekstrom appointed new CEO of Eurofield Information Solutions

Clinical coding and grouping software vendor Eurofield Information Solutions has appointed Anders Ekstrom as its new CEO, taking over from company founder and managing director Alfred Papallo, who is now chairman.

Mr Ekstrom previously spent two years with medical device firm Hologic and 10 managing life sciences firm Eppendorf in the region, as well as six with Medtronic.

Eurofield Information Solutions was founded in 1992 by Mr Papallo and markets its proprietary eComPress electronic publishing technology to a range of industries, primarily for public and private health resource management. It is used in the company's TurboCoder and TurboGrouper software solutions for clinical coding and AR-DRG grouping.

Mr Ekstrom said the implementation of TurboGrouper in numerous hospitals meant there was overdue competition and choice in this growing market.

“Adapting to market opportunities, we are now a leader in clinical coding software solutions with users in Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia and several other countries along with an R&D pipeline of other exciting productivity solutions,” he said.
