Christine Bennett appointed to Telstra Health board

Former chair of the National Health and Hospitals Reform Commission Christine Bennett has been appointed to the board of Telstra Health, succeeding Michael Kidd, who has taken on the role as Australia's deputy chief medical officer.
Professor Bennett is currently deputy vice chancellor at the University of Notre Dame Australia in Sydney and was previously dean of its School of Medicine. She was also formerly chief medical officer for MBF and BUPA Australia.
A specialist paediatrician, Professor Bennett is well-known for her role with the landmark National Health and Hospitals Reform Commission.
Telstra Health board chair Brendon Riley said Professor Bennett would bring deep experience to the board through her clinical, commercial, public sector and academic credentials in health.
“Professor Bennett’s appointment is timely, with interest in digital health accelerating through the COVID-19 pandemic and the Telstra Health business continuing to grow strongly,” he said.
