Stella Ward, David Leach join Celo advisory board

Former Canterbury and West Coast DHBs chief digital officer Stella Ward has joined the advisory board of NZ-headquartered clinical communications platform vendor Celo.

She will be joined by the CEO of cloud-based inventory management software business Cin7, David Leach.

Celo CEO Steve Vlok the pair had vast experience in the clinical and healthcare technology sectors. “I don’t think we could have found two people who have more rounded perspectives on ICT in healthcare, and there’s no doubt that they’re both going to be a source of invaluable guidance to us,” he said.

Ms Ward was most recently responsible for strategic leadership and governance with Canterbury and West Coast DHBs. She was responsible for implementing Canterbury's digital strategy and leading its Information Services Group.

Mr Leach was formerly chief operating officer of veterinary practice management software company ezyVet and had stints at Orion Health and Qrious.

Celo was co-founded by Mr Vlok in Christchurch in 2014 and partnered with Canterbury DHB to develop the platform, which is aimed at helping connect healthcare professionals.

It is also used by Hawke’s Bay DHB, Auckland DHB, ProCare Health, and Healthcare Holdings Group, which owns the Ascot Hospital. It also has a presence in Australia and the UK.
