Healthdirect appoints former Babylon medical director as CMO

Digital and virtual health services provider Healthdirect Australia has appointed former Babylon Health APAC medical director Nirvana Luckraj as its new chief medical officer (CMO).

Dr Luckraj has local and international experience in remote and virtual care, and she is also an expert in clinical artificial intelligence and digital health.

For the past four years she has been based in Singapore, most recently with Babylon Health, the UK-headquartered digital-first health service provider.

According to Healthdirect Australia, during her time Dr Luckraj oversaw the development, localisation and clinical governance of clinical artificial intelligence products, including symptom checker chatbot and health assessment products.

Prior to this she was medical director of health and security services organisation International SOS in Sydney and Singapore.

She is a fellow of the RACGP and a member of the RCGP with an MBBS from the University of Natal in South Africa.
