Cerner taps Julie Hoare for APAC top spot

EMR vendor Cerner has appointed long-term staffer Julie Hoare as its new vice president and managing director for Asia Pacific, taking over from Cameron Burt, who departed last month.
Ms Hoare has more than 30 years’ experience in healthcare information technology and has been with Cerner since 1998, holding various roles including client results executive and operations leader.
For the past seven years, she was vice president of regional consulting services, focusing on the delivery of all client implementations across Australia, Singapore, and Malaysia, as well as the operation of the consulting practice.
Prior to Cerner she worked at the Children’s Hospital Westmead in the biochemical genetics screening service.
She has a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and genetics from the University of Sydney and a Master of Applied Science from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Cerner International president Emil Peters said Ms Hoare had played a key role in the success of Cerner Asia Pacific to date. “This appointment underpins our commitment to our clients and the Asia Pacific market, to support organisations to deliver the quadruple aim of healthcare,” he said in a statement.
